If Makkah Asked Us
2026
A visual work that places the human at the center of how Makkah is seen, before turning the gaze back toward those behind its work.
The city shifts from subject to measure, where achievement is weighed against the responsibility of the place. At its core lies a quieter question: did the work rise to the meaning of Makkah?
Written, directed, and photographed from within my own experience of working for Makkah, this visual work took shape around a question that surfaced in my mind: could my work rise to the meaning of the place?
